Next season could be make or break for this current core of the Buffalo Sabres

A 14-year playoff drought has haunted the team, city, and fan base, leaving them wondering when this nightmare will finally end. While there are pieces in place to stay competitive, it’s very possible that we could be headed towards another painful year of losing in Western New York.

Nobody deserves their moment on top more than Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl
Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier, Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr, Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. We’ve seen plenty of dynamic duos throughout the history of the NHL. The best of the best rack up regular-season points and trophies with ease, but what makes them truly special are Stanley Cups. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl more than belong in this legendary group; however, the most important trophy of all continues to elude them in cruel fashion.

Is it already time for the Colorado Avalanche to move on from Martin Necas?
It feels like a long time ago that the Colorado Avalanche were on top of the hockey world. The Avs’ 2021-22 Stanley Cup Championship was the ultimate triumph for their core group desperate to get over the hump. Once they finally reached the pinnacle, it felt like just the start of a dominant run. But we’re now three years removed from that moment, and they really haven’t come close to reaching the same level.
