No Need for the Maple Leafs to Mess Around—Take Gavin McKenna First-Overall
If the NHL was hoping the 2026 Draft Lottery would produce the most dramatic outcome possible, it got its wish. The Toronto Maple Leafs jumped from No. 5 to No. 1 and landed the first-overall pick despite having just an 8.5% chance of doing so, along with a 58.2% chance of falling out of the top five and losing the pick altogether.
